Joshua King, PhD
Details about me listed in no particular order:
I collect vintage Ace Double Novels: hilariously pulpy tête-bêche (back to back binding) novels. My first one was D-176: 3 Thousand Years (tagline "They slept for thirty centuries") and The Green Queen ("Was she mistress of miracles or puppet of super-science?").
A friend and I are designing the world's first STEMpunk card game: Publish or Perish. Build golems and homunculi to clean your workshop, fetch raw materials, and fill out grant applications. We're still trying to figure out how to incorporate the volvelle.
I study rhetoric and composition theory, especially games and how they work as aesthetic experiences.
I have written more papers about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim than any other subject.
I name my MMO characters after classical rhetoricians.
I'm what's known as a Double Dawg: both my MA and PhD are from UGA. Try not to hold it against me.
