Michael Young is a writing teacher who researches the history of rhetorical education. He received his PhD in 2024 from Penn State University, and he joins Georgia Tech as a Brittain fellow, teaching composition courses and consulting in the Naugle Writing and Communication Center. He has published work in the Quarterly Journal of Speech, and he is currently writing about the history of mis/disinformation pedagogies in general education. In addition to first-year writing, he has taught classes in rhetoric, civics, religious history, technical writing, and science writing. As a consultant, Michael especially enjoys working with graduate school applications, grants, and research articles.
